Project details: Nimxu Mixja introduced the Year 5 students to walking practice as an art form while fostering a sense of community and a deeper understanding of their school town. The children were encouraged to rethink how space is used and to exchange their ideas, hopes, and solutions on where they live, play and study. Furthermore, the project aimed to present an alternative to the car culture that is prevalent in society today and which hinders a sense of ownership or community.
Nimxu Mixja is taking place in collaboration with Kristina Borg, Raffaella Zammit, Gabriel Caruana Foundation, Birkirkara Primary School and supported by Arts Council Malta – Kreattiv.

Dettalji dwar il-proġett: Nimxu Mixja introduċa l-istudenti tal-ħames sena għall-mixi bħala prattika artistika filwaqt li jrawmu sens ta’ komunità u għarfien aħjar dwar Birkirkara. L-istudenti kienu mħeġġa jaħsbu dwar id-disinn tal-ispazju ta’ madwarhom u jaqsmu l-ideat, ix-xewqat u s-suġġerimenti tagħhom dwar fejn joqogħdu, jilagħbu u jistudjaw. Barra minn hekk, il-proġett ħeġġeġ lill-istudenti jaħsbu u jużaw alternattivi differenti minflok l-użu tal-karozza li huwa tant prevalenti fis-soċjetà tal-lum u li jfixkel kull sens ta’ komunità.
Nimxu Mixja qed iseħħ f’kollaborazzjoni ma’ Kristina Borg, Raffaella Zammit, Gabriel Caruana Foundation, l-Iskola Primarja ta’ Birkirkara u megħjun mill-Kunsill tal-Arti Malta – Kreattiv.
