On the 22nd of June 1990 The Mill – Art, Culture and Crafts Centre, was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr Fenech Adami. Gabriel and Mary Rose Caruana invited Angelo Agius, Sandra Attard, Ruth Bianco, Frederick Bonnet, Tony Briffa, Anthony Calleja, Antoine P. Camilleri, Arthur Dutton, Richard England, Sina Farrugia, Luciano Micallef, and George Muscat among others to exhibit their work during the opening.
