Caruana is elected to the board of the Malta Society of Arts, Valletta. Between July and September he completes the ‘Pittura e Scultura’ course at the Accademia di Belle Arti Pietro Vannucci, Perugia. Caruana meets Gerardo Dottori (1884-1977), Italian Futurist painter and Enrico Caroselli of Michingan, USA. In October during a Committee meeting of the Malta Society Of Arts Caruana proposes that the MSA takes on the responsibility of coordinating Malta’s presence at the Venice Biennale. Caruana is very active in the Malta Society of Arts.
