BIO:

Steven Scicluna (Malta, 1984) is an illustrator, designer and visual artist based in Valencia, Spain. With an extensive background in graphic design, together with years of pracitising graffiti art, his visual language is largely graphic in nature, characterised by the use of simple shapes, bold colour, patterns and symbols. His work typically revolves around bringing out a sense of wonder in its subjects. Steven is also the founder of Lefty Le Mur workshop and a co-founder of the Malta Community of Illustrators. He presently co-directs a Masters in Branding course at Barreira University, Valencia.

Rationale:

The Mill is the Mill. There were many other mills in Malta before, but no one could remove this Mill. Not even all the cars and buses and trucks and houses and people and shops of Naxxar Road could destroy the Mill. Because this mill just kept on living! Just like that. This one kept on dreaming, thinking up ideas and bringing people together. Instead of giving us the flour for our daily bread, this Mill gives us art to feed our souls. There really is no other mill like the Mill. All hail the Independent Republic of the Mill!
