Bio

Cartoons were a big part of Ritchie’s childhood years, not only did they put a smile on his face, but they also inspired possibility and positivity in him. Ritchie comes from a background in design and advertising, focusing on commercial illustration. Besides this, he also enjoys turning curiosities into personal projects. Ritchie’s last personal project was a public exhibition titled “Malta’s Got Some Character” an exhibition promoting Maltese culture, through a satire cartoon. Ritchie has enjoyed collaborating and working with brands such as CellMark, Campari, Martini Royale, Martini Bellini, Red Bull, Delicata Winemakers and Iniala5.

Rationale

The artwork is aimed to highlight positivity and possibility. The illustration is an attempt to humanise The Mill as a bright and supportive woman. She sees the potential in others and helps them bloom in creativity and imagination. The design was created digitally, first through a digital sketch using a tablet and moved onto a software that is known for creating logos. This software is not like conventional drawing as it deals with maths using paths rather than brushes.
