SPRING v1.1

SPRING v1.1

January 2021 at The Mill will welcome emerging artists Noura Abdelhafidh, Stephania Micallef and Stefan Spiteri, who have been selected as part of our SPRING open call.  SPRING v1.1 will launch on Thursday 21st January at 17:00 and will run until the Monday 8th February, at The Mill – Art, Culture and Crafts Centre, Birkirkara. We will have an open day on Saturday 6th February between 11:00 and 18:00. The Mill is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10:00 to 12:00 and 17:00 to 19:00.  A selection of artworks and ephemera by our emerging artists will be available for sale from our online store. This is a unique opportunity to invest in promising contemporary artists as well as supporting our Foundation.

Here at the Gabriel Caruana Foundation we are four-square behind emerging artists, if we’ve learnt anything from 2020 is that support can come in all shapes and sizes, and a little goes a long way. The SPRING programme is now two-pronged. We offer an annual month-long solo exhibition to an emerging artist/artist collective during the Spring season. We are also offering a dedicated exhibition space for emerging artists/artist collectives for approximately a three week period each throughout the year. The SPRING programme is the result of years of experience collaborating with artists and collectives. This programme allows us to support emerging artists and collectives by dedicating physical space, time to engage in critical discussions, guiding the curatorial process, project development, sales of artworks, marketing and internationalisation.
